July 4, 2026, is the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.

Join Illinois America 250 to uplift local stories, places, and programs; build pride; and showcase how Illinois brings the ideals of the Declaration of Independence to life.

The Illinois America 250 Commission has identified three themes for the 250th commemorations:

  • Power of Place

  • We the People

  • Doing History
